
This post show a guide on how to install aftermarket HID conversion kit for Ford Focus.
Always put safety first; using jackstands, eye protection, and all other required safety measures. It is also recommended to have supervision whenever possible.
Note: This project will take you about 1-2 hours to finish.
What you need?
1.Phillips Screwdriver
2.Drill
3.1/8″ Drill Bit
4.10mm Socket
5.1/2″ Socket
6.Ratchet
7.Wire Cutter/Stripper
8.Electrical Tape
9.3/4″ Metal Screws or Use Provided Wire Ties
10.Latex/Rubber Gloves
11. Allen Wrench (Adjusting Head light)

Optional Items
These items are only required if you do not have an available H4 or 9007 adapter.
Step 1
Remove the battery cover.
Step 2
Use a 1/2″ socket and ratchet, remove the battery strap.
Step 3
Use a 10mm socket and ratchet, remove the negative battery terminal.
Step 4
Repeat the same procedure for the positive battery terminal.
Step 5
Remove the battery from the engine compartment.
Step 6
Locate the rubber boot behind the head light housing.
Step 7
Remove the boot.
Step 8
Behind the boot there should be a plastic ring holding the light bulb in place. Rotate the ring counter clockwise to unlatch the bulb from the housing.
Step 8
Put on your Latex glove and remove the bulb from the housing by pulling it straight back.
Step 9
Cut four wires approximately 2′ each.
Step 10
Install and crimp the flat-pin connector at one end of the 16 gauge wire.
Step 11
Install and crimp the female connector to the other end of the 16 guage wire.
* Repeat Steps 10-11 for all four wires.
Step 12
After completing Steps 10-11, your wires should look like this.
Step 13
Locate the existing head light bulb socket.
Step 14
Insert the wires completed in Steps 10-11 into each of the head light socket. Make sure the negative wire is inserted into the middle slot. The two outer slots are for your High and Low beam.
Step 16
Use electrical tape to secure and seal the wires into place.
Step17
Slide the plastic ring through the HID bulb.
Step 18
Slide the bulb back into the head light housing and rotate the plastic ring clockwise to secure the bulb into place.
Step 19
Use the provided double-sided tape, attach the mounting bracket to the ballast.
Step 20
Using a 1/8″ drill bit, drill a small hole into the fender wall. Then using a Phillips screwdriver and 3/4″ screw, mount the ballast into place.
Step 21
Repeat this procedure for the other side of the car.
Step 22
Connect the wire harness to the 16 gauge wires leading from the head light socket. Plug the wire harness into the ballast and tape away any exposed wires.
Step 23
Plug the wires leading from the HID bulb to the ballast.
Step 23
Use wire ties to secure any extra wiring. Tuck away the loose wires behind the ballast.
Step 24
Inspect the installation for any remaining exposed wires.
Step 25
Turn the head lights on and make sure everything is working.
Step 26
Should you need to adjust the aiming of the head lights. Park your car in front of a wall or garage and use an Allen wrench to adjust the vertical adjusters.
