This post I want to share the guide on how to paint front calipers and drums for Ford Focus.Hope it helps!
Note:I would suggest against white because of brake dust and it’s little ricy on tiny stock brakes in my opinion. Go for black or gray. That’s what I would do if I were to do it over again.
What You Need?
19mm socket with breaker bar
Jack & Pair of Jack Stands
Screw Driver
Rough Sand Paper
Water & Brush (or rag)
High Temp Paint
Newspapers & Masking Tape

Optional:
Torque Wrench
Rubbing Alcohol/Brake Cleaner
Gloves
Fine Sand Paper
Glass that’s half full or half empty but with whiskey in it
Bucket for water
Procedures:
Use screw driver to pop hub caps of.
Use 19mm socket to loosen lug nuts.
Jack your car up and place jack stands under!
Sand those calipers real good. Keep doing it until it’s real smooth and no loose rust or anything that might seem to affect finish negatively.
Now wash it up real good with warm water.
Optional: Clean it up with break cleaner or even rubbing alcohol. I’ve used white paper towel to dry it off so that I can see if anymore rust/dust/dirt coming off. Keep doing this until towel stays clean.
Mask it of real good.
Spray Paint it. I did three light coats and let it sit for about 15-20 minutes between each coat (this is where that glass of whiskey comes in handy).
Note: I’ve used Rustoleum High Heat Paint. Very satisfied with finish, but I suppose it’s not proper paint for this application. Painted both calipers and drums with one can and have left over.
Take that masking off.. At this point there are two things that can happen:
You like the result, bravo;
You hate it (this is where you’d want those whiskey left overs you’ve been sipping on);
Painted my drums as well. Basically same steps, but expect more sanding and less masking. Took me probably two hours all together.
