This short post show a guide on how to disable Start/Stop for Ford F150 2015 2 generation by yourself.Try this DIY instruction by your own risk!

 

Procedures:

1.Push the button (obvious and easiest way)

2.Plug in a trailer adapter to ‘trick’ the truck into thinking there is a trailer attached (Can’t confirm if it works for 2018’s)

3.Use SPORT mode (Does not work on trucks prior to 2018 with 6 speed transmission)

4.Unplug the BMS plug near the battery

5.Run a jumper behind the plug.To disable the auto start/stop feature you need to jumper a wire on the on/off switch on the radio bezel.This will make the system think the button is pressed to off each time the engine is started.To remove the bezel just pull up on the tray on to of the dash.Remove the two 7mm screws under the tray to loosen the radio bezel.Pull the bezel off by pulling from top to bottom.Either unplug the wire harness to the on/off switch or push the switch out off the bezel by pressing the tabs in on both side of the switch and push it out.Jumper the purple and white wire by either splicing a wire between the 2 wires or shoving wire in the back of the harness until its secure and won’t move.A piece of safety wire in the socket is less permanent and can be removed easily.

6.Unplug black connector (only tested on 2017/2018 models at this point; does not work with Powerstroke).So for all the 2018 eco’s there is a simple 5 second solution for the auto start/stop feature.Unplug the button connector under the drives side dash as seen in the pic.No more start/stop and no trouble lights.It is the communication wire that enables/disables via the brake.

7.Disable it in ForScan

FCIM 7A7-01-01 xxxx x0xx xxxx (optional – disables switch – the button to turn off)
IPC 720-01-01 xxxx 1xxx xxxx (optional – disables stop/start message center in the trip/fuel IPC menu)
